In my opinion this press release went a little overboard with the trademark symbols, but I'm always happy to share news about free cupcake giveaways!

According to their Facebook page, Chicago cupcake truck Sweet Ride is giving away free cupcakes today - it just started. Sorry for the late notice. You can also follow them @SweetRideChi on Twitter.

Come see us at 1230pm in Bridgeport (near 31st and Halsted) or 300pm in Wicker Park/Bucktown (near Milwaukee, Damen, and North Ave). Only 500 free cupcakes at each location. (One per person please.)

As we told you about earlier this week, 1,000 free cupcakes today at Crumbs in Newark Airport! I don't know off the top of my head about other cupcake bakeries in airports but have been saying for years that they should be in airports (I've seen a few random cupcakes at airports but not a cupcake bakery per se). Visit Crumbs' Facebook page for the latest. We Tweeted to Newark mayor Cory Booker (@CoryBooker) about this giveaway and he wrote: "Congrats! But oh the temptation!"

The store, which also sells coffee and other baked goods, is looking for new locations on Madison Avenue on the Upper East Side; in Chelsea around 21st Street and Sixth Avenue; in the West Village; and around Lincoln Center. A Times Square store is already in the oven.

Crumbs also plans to spread more to the outer boroughs, including Park Slope and Forest Hill in Queens. The store is looking for spaces between 1,000 and 1,500 square feet that have good foot traffic. Crumbs, founded in 2003, also recently announced it will go public through a $66 million merger with an investment company. As the country's largest cupcake chain, it currently operates 16 stores in New York City alone.
