Mayor Nestor Fongwan encouraged strawberry cake makers to ensure a year-round, if not increased production of the cake, to uphold the town's title as the maker of the world's largest strawberry butter cake.
This developed, as Fongwan said observers and visitors claim that the supply of strawberry cake is not that abundant, ironical of a municipality famous for baking such.
The mayor said the town has been known for baking giant strawberry cakes, but then when tourists visit the town, they could not really be served with the cake to their satisfaction. Thus, the request for the cake bakers to ensure its continuous supply.
