Nashville's Table: Generous Helpings of Cake!

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

If this years Generous Helpings benefit event is anything like last year's, there will be tables full of all-you-can-eat decadent cakes and desserts. Generous Helpings was named "Best Food Event" by the Nashville Scene in 2004 and this must be due in part to Midtown Cafe's flourless chocolate cake. Midtown Cafe will be making another appearance at the 2005 Generous Helpings event along with Provence Breads & Café, Mambu, Mad Platter, The Yellow Porch, Sunset Grill and Zola who are also reknowned for their delicious cakes and desserts. Also participating The Acorn, Arthur’s, Bistro 215, Bound’ry, CABANA, Caffé Nonna, Chapel Bistro, Corrieri’s Formaggeria & Mafiaoza’s, Kalamatas, Margot Café & Bar, Mirror, Monell's Dining & Catering, Noshville Delicatessen, Park Café, PM, South Street Restaurant & Crabshack, Tayst Restaurant & Wine Bar, The Trace, Tin Angel and Wild Iris to complete a list which is a veritable who's who of fine dining in Nashville. Proceeds from the event go to helping Nashville's Table feed thousands of hungry individuals and families in Middle Tennessee.

Chocolate Marquise

This sinfully rich chocolate mousse cake is made even richer with a hint of espresso. The marquise has a soft bottom layer of chocolate genoise and an elegant finish of moldable chocolate.
