Convicts are getting the chance to have birthday cakes baked in jail for their kids.
Prisoners place their request two weeks before they want their cake and pay for it from their wages or from family cash.
Prisoner Michael, who bakes and decorates the cakes, hopes to get a job in catering when he leaves the Lanarkshire jail.
He said: "This has given me skills and job satisfaction I never had before. I am now producing celebration cakes for family contact visits.
I have got opportunities I have never had before and I look forward to my work every day."
