Kueh Bangkit

Of all the Chinese New Year cookies, kueh bangkit is my favourite. I remember when I was a kid, I would always look forward to that container of homemade kueh bangkit which my auntie gave to my family every year. Those were the best that I have come across. Not only were they most beautifully made, they were also the most delicious.

I'm into my third year of making my own kueh bangkit (Peranakan or Nonya style). These cookies are very lasting. They can stay edible for at least 1 month. I got this recipe from a close friend who told me to keep it secret and 'sacred', because the person who came out with this recipe has passed on to gloryland.

I still have a long way to making these cookies look as beautiful as those I have eaten in my childhood days. But I should say the taste is perfect. Why? Because you can never stop at 1, 2 or 3..haha. If you want to sample them, just email me. Do it quickly, before my family finish them all up.
