Yesterday I had the pleasure of hanging out with Mari Luangrath, owner of Foiled Cupcakes in Chicago. Mari was recently featured in an Entrepreneur article about how she uses social media to grow her business. We met briefly last year, and have tech friends in common. Mari gave me one of her red velvet cupcakes (prictured above) which is called the "Southern Belle". Fresh from Chicago, it was delicious! Then we braved the cold weather and walked to two bakeries, Little Cupcake Bake Shop in Soho and Sweet Revenge in the West Village.
It was fun to chat with someone in the cupcake business and get their perspective. If any cupcake bakery owners come to the New York City from far flung places, please feel free to email us and hopefully if our schedules allow it, we can meet up for a cupcake.
