To me, cookies are just little cakes and this is a really fun idea. I think the cookies here look more like crackers though. Maybe try patting on some colorful sprinkles before baking. I could also see a nice royal icing border along the rim of the bowl, some intricate piping on the sides or even basketweave. It'd be really cute decorated to match whatever cookies were inside. Earlene also shared a couple other edible cookie-holding concoctions. She and the kids made Cookie-Cookie Jars. One method they used was to stack rings of cookies held together by royal icing and topped off by one big cookie. I'd end up eating the lid before I ever even made it to the cookies inside. The other method was to construct a cookie jar much the same way you would build a gingerbread house. You can find both methods and some really cute pics here.
