Happy BlogDay!

BlogDay is one day dedicated to getting to know other bloggers from other countries and areas of interest. On that day Bloggers will recommend other blogs to their blog visitors. With the goal in mind, on this day every blogger will post a recommendation of 5 new blogs. In this way, all Blog web surfers will find themselves leaping around and discovering new, previously unknown blogs.

For International BlogDay 2005 I decided to seek out other food bloggers from around the world. I was looking for those that exposed me to cuisine, traditions, recipes and travels that I'd never before seen or experienced.

First stop, Brisbane, Queensland, Australia with Kelly
The Occasional Epicure. Kelly's blog got my attention with some very unique cuisine out of Singapore including a chocolate and chilli sandwich sabo and frog porridge.

Next we travel back in time to explore
18thC Cuisine in France with Carolyn. Beignets, clafoutis and pots de crème, Carolyn's blog is a feast for the eyes.

Italy is the third stop with
Gustoblog. A blog loaded with news, events and information about food with an emphasis on Italian food.

It's retro recipes with Kirkkitsch in my forth recommendation
Jam Handy. I'm a big fan of retro recipes and vintage cookbooks so I plan to become a regular visitor to this blog.

Lastly, tiny food is fun over at
minicaretti, a blog about crafting miniature food in 1:12 scale. The pictures are deliciously adorable and I hope they'll keep coming.
