I've always enjoyed home parties. There is a public holiday (Vesak Day) following after this weekend. We have decided to organise a BBQ cum potluck party at our house's poolside. Going for a swim will always be a welcomed idea, especially in this hot weather that we are having lately.Besides marinating chicken wings and cooking green bean soup, I have decided to make some fast and easy cupcakes (since we are anticipating many children and I only have less than 2 hours to churn out the cupcakes). This is the first time I have made a lavender-flavoured cake and I like the floral taste! I guess I don't have a sweet-tooth afterall. I thought my cupcakes were too sweet but my guests (adults and kids) finished them rather quickly, despite the presence of other food items :D. In a nutshell, these are just ordinary buttercakes, with pure lavender paste added into them during the mixing.
Thank God for the fine weather. By 6 pm, the BBQ area was breezy and cool. It was truly an enjoyable evening for all of us (6 families).
